The cost is $25.00 per student with a maximum of $75.00 per family. Registration forms are available in the Christian Education offices or by going to the Grosse Pointe churches'  VBS toolkit at the VBS Place website.

Note:  The address for St. James Lutheran Church was printed incorrectly in the June Carillon.  St. James Lutheran is located at 170 Mcmillan Road, Grosse Pointe Farms.

As a congregation committed to uphold the promises made at baptism, we teach our children to live the love of Jesus Christ and to help them recognize the work of God in their lives and in the world. Our all-ages programs include Family Education, the Hanging of the Greens, Lenten series, and various events when we are a host to an ecumenical minister each year.

    Sunday Morning Programs

    Young Children and Worship

An exciting experience offered for all children age 3 through grade 2 during the 9:00am worship service. Participants are excused after the children's sermon (approximately 20 minutes into the service) to their own Worship center to experience God's word through storytelling, prayer, art and music.

    Growing with God

This program is offered during the summer months at the 8:30 outdoor service.  Children 3 years of age thru 2nd grade are invited to come to the vegetable garden following the Children's sermon.  This will be our time to worship together and also learn about gardening so that the produce we harvest may help our neighbors who are in need.

    Young Families Fellowship

"Young Families" is all about bringing parents and children together in fellowship, friendship, and support with the common experience of raising children in Chrsitian faith and love.  Throughout the year, special events are planned for families with children of preschool age and younger such as summer cookouts, fall apple picking, an Easter egg hunt and gathering for fun nights at church.  It also give the children an opportunity to develop friendships with their peers and begin to acquire a sense of "family" within the church. Caribou Parents Discussion Group

A Sunday morning gathering of Christian parents sharing stories, insights or concerns about raising kids in today's world. This group meets every Sunday at 10:15am in the 2nd floor lounge. Parents with children of all ages are welcome to join us.
