Join in the Grosse Pointe ecumenical effort to support Church World Services. Local churches are preparing now for the 2017 CROP Walk by picking up pledge envelopes and gathering donors. You may pick up yours at any middle hour or by emailing Steve Tengler, John Strader or Sue Acton.
Let us know you are participating by signing up in the our lobby anytime or at the table in Fellowship Hall on April 23, 30 or May 7.
On May 7, go to Grosse Pointe Congregational Church at 240 Chalfonte at 12:45 pm to donate the funds you collected and record your pledge of support before the 1 pm start. At 1 pm it’s time to walk a 1.3 or a 3 mile loop.
It’s sure to be a beautiful day. Walking is a great way to show your support for CWS. CROP Walks began in 1969 as interfaith hunger education and fundraising events. There have been more than 36,000 Hunger Walks since then! CROP dollars not only supply food and water, but also resources needed to empower people to meet their own needs. From seeds and tools to wells and water systems to technical training and micro-enterprise loans, CWS addresses food insecurity in many and creative ways.
Bring the kids, the neighbors, and the dogs. All are welcome.
