GPMC offers three adult education groups that use artistic media to explore questions of faith and living. They all return this fall, starting with the Novel as Theology on September 27. The novel for this month is Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale. This group meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 7:30 – 9 p.m. at the home of Shawn and Peter Henry.
Reel Theology, which pairs movies with theological conversation, resumes on Monday October 2 with Martin Scorses’s adaption of Endo’s novel Silence. The popcorn is ready and the movie starts at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.
Finally, Short Story Theology meets again on Wednesday October 11 from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the home of Shawn and Peter Henry. The short story is available in the Reception Area beginning September 15.
Each of these groups is structured around robust, group conversation where nobody needs to be an expert. Just come ready to appreciate the story or movie, learn from one another, enjoy dessert or popcorn. Come every time, come whenever you can. You don’t have to be a “regular” to join us; if a title catches your eye you are welcome to be part of the conversation that night.
