Summer should be a time of fun and laughter for children. For those who rely on subsidized school meals, summer can be a time of anxiety when there is uncertainty about having enough to eat. Ideally, we would like to distribute cereal that contains whole grains, and is low in sugar and sodium. But, any cereal is fine! This year, at the Presbytery of Detroit’s request, we are sharing our donations between:
PRESBYTERY OF DETROIT HUNGER MINISTRIES
½ the cereal collected will go to the nine congregations in partnership with the presbytery that offer food pantries or meal programs. (Detroit’s Calvin East, Calvary, St. John’s, Trinity, Trumbull Avenue and Westminster; Park United in Highland Park; Cherry Hill in Dearborn; and Lincoln Park operating in Ecorse.)
JEFFERSON AVENUE’S TUTORING TREE SUMMER PROGRAMS
½ the cereal will go to the summer programs, camps and food services provided by Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church.
PLEASE BRING YOUR DONATIONS TO THE LOBBY COAT ROOM BY JULY 15.
