Thanks, GPMC, for welcoming up to 40 homeless guests from Cass Community Services for an entire week. We’ll serve them a delicious dinner, provide entertainment and showers, a safe place to sleep, breakfast, and send them on their way with a sack lunch seven nights in a row.
Yes, we need a lot of help to make this happen. We’ve even invited other churches to partner with us – look for cooks from Christ Church Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church, Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, Grosse Pointe Methodist Church, Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church, Lake Shore Presbyterian Church and our own LIFE/TUXIS youth.
Beginning October 4, in Fellowship Hall, the Outreach Council will be asking YOU to sign up to be a Shift Volunteer Host, or donate food for breakfast, lunch and snacks, or donate prizes. Remember, it takes over 100 volunteers to make this work. Will you be one of them?
If you miss the table in Fellowship Hall on Sundays, you can stop by Barbour Chapel during the week to sign up. Donations of Bingo Prizes (socks, dark colored knit hats, gloves, treats) or non-perishable food can be made in the box in the coat room. Directions for perishables to follow.
Please contact one of our chairs if you need more information. They have been planning for our guests (AND YOU!) for months already.
