Plans are underway for a Star Wars-themed Christmas pageant on Sunday, December 11. It will be one of our December Young Families events. The pageant starts at 6:30 in the Sanctuary, includes live music and costumes, and is followed by cookies and cocoa. The whole evening will conclude by 7:30 p.m. Wear your favorite Star Wars costumes and we will get you into the pageant! Stay tuned for details about this unique chance to view the Gospel story through Star Wars eyes. Please RSVP to Janet Ruthven (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that we can have a headcount for the cookies and cocoa.
The GPMC Sewing & Knitting Group will have a HOLIDAY SALE on November 6 – from Middle Hour until 12:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. All the usual great stuff: doll clothes for 18” dolls, hand knit shawls and baby items and hats for a frosty winter. The ‘must have’ microwave bowl holders for winter soups and chili, holiday placements and napkins. Special for collectors, we have a large donation of ‘Possible Dreams Santas’ and ‘Snowbabies’; come see the charming collections.
Big news – returning to our sale is PAL CRAFTAID with loads of the unique hand carved, olive wood ornaments, crèches and so much more. Don’t miss a visit to their table to browse and buy and support Palestinian Fair Trade craftsmen.
AND…help support our refugee families: Suzan will display and sell jewelry and Benedicte is making holiday aprons for us.
GPMC returns to its regular worship schedule on Sunday, September 11. Our morning services are at 9:00 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. The 5:00 p.m. service will stay outside for one more week.
Our day includes a LOT of things. You might need to make some tough choices that day. The morning services include: a baptism at 9 a.m., the blessing of the backpacks (all services), the resumption of Young Children and Worship (9 a.m.) the welcome of third graders to the entire worship service, the return of the adult choir and a light brunch between services. Our afternoon service includes two baptisms in the lake and our own GPMC Worship Band. The Band will play every second Sunday this year. How do you choose? It’s tough, but we are thankful for the fullness of our faithful life together.
The Parish Life Council is treating you to breakfast! On Sunday, September 11th, please join us for brunch to celebrate the first Sunday with 9:00 and 11:00 services. The brunch will be held between our morning services; come early for the 11:00 service or stay after the 9:00 service and share a meal with everyone. The meal is free and will be a wonderful way to connect with the congregation. Sign up at the Reception Desk, email email@example.com with your name and number attending or call the church, so the Parish Life Council will make sure to have plenty of food for everyone.
