About Act 2:
Emmajean Evans, a Grosse Pointe Theatre member for over 50 years, recognized the need for senior actors to have a chance to once again perform, but without the burden of memorizing scripts. She approached the Grosse Pointe Theatre Board with her idea of a readers theatre, which they enthusiastically approved. Since then, her dedication and enthusiasm have led to the founding of ACT 2, providing a creative outlet for our senior members, with Emmajean at the helm.
The mission of Grosse Pointe Theatre is to create, connect, and inspire. ACT 2, out Senior Readers Theatre, fits this mission, not only for their audiences, but for the members of the troupe as well. The artistic expression, camaraderie and sense of purpose experienced by the troupe, encourage lifelong relationships among the troupe, both on and off the stage. Best of all, they are still able to share their lifelong love of theatre with the community.
