Ministry Architects

In November of 2022, GPMC entered into a relationship with Ministry Architects Consulting to work with our Children and Youth Ministries. This is an 18 month partnership in which we have been provided with an initial assessment, a customized blueprint for our ministry context, and a strategic implementation plan that fits with our ministry’s DNA.

While the staff of the church continue to do ministry, a Renovation Team has been created to build a foundation and infrastructure that will ensure the future effectiveness of our ministries, and to carry out the recommendations from the Ministry Architects initial report. Those Team members are: Scott Cauvel, Sabina Dykstra, Joe Kaiser, Ken Kamman, Dale Lewis, and Caroline Marks. Rev. Jasmine Smart serves as their staff liaison.

Elder Joe Kaiser is our communications liaison, and we will continue to update the congregation and session as things progress. We invite you to join us in prayer during this process along with our Prayer Team! Those team members are: Kathy Kurap, Tim Butler, Debbie Owen, Jim & Mary Garlough, and Mike Kopasz.

Update from the Renovation Team (September 8, 2023):

The Ministry Architects team, along with our GPMC Staff and Renovation Team, have been diligently working on revitalizing our Children’s and Youth programs. A significant milestone has been achieved with the completion of the Children’s and Youth Vision Document, a guiding framework that will steer our programs for years to come.

Mission Statement:

We include, love, and inspire children and youth in the greater Grosse Pointe area so that they may develop a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ through joyful fellowship and service.

Core Values:

  • Christ-Centered
  • Inclusive
  • Kind
  • Fun

In conjunction with the aforementioned Vision Statement, our teams are actively developing a comprehensive event notebook, crafting game plans tailored for new families, and devising strategies for recruiting and training volunteers.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for the Christian Formation Summit on October 1. This summit aims to foster clarity and unity within our Christian Formation Program and we will be discussing milestones, core competencies, programming and special events. We need YOUR voice and input. Help us develop a spiritual formation plan for our children and youth.
