Please join the GPMC Outreach Council as we help sort medical supplies at
World Medical Relief from 9:00 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, September 11. We will be working in their very large warehouse.
This is an amazing organization, started in 1953 by a mission oriented Detroit woman, Irene Auberlin. Read her story to learn how her work to help one orphanage in Korea grew into an organization sending medical supplies worldwide. WMR has also developed the first pacemaker reconditioning/recycling program in the world.
Following your volunteer work in the warehouse, you will be offered a tour of the facility. Please don’t miss this opportunity.
Please meet us at the WMR Warehouse at 9:00 am. The address is 21725 Melrose Avenue in Southfield, MI.
It would be helpful if those with medical backgrounds volunteered for SOME of our slots to help identify “mystery equipment.” But the job can be done by anyone, and it’s fun to open a big box of medical supplies and sort them so they can be shipped appropriately.
We will follow safety guidelines from WMR including this note for staff and volunteers: “If you have been completely vaccinated, you do not have to wear a mask while at World Medical Relief; however, you do have to present a copy of your Covid-19 vaccination card for our files. Otherwise, a mask is required.” For our Sign up Genius page, click below:
