The Goal: Collect 20,000 pairs of socks and underwear
As of April 2024, over 23,200 have been donated through Happy Cheeks.
Happy Cheeks was founded in 2020 by a GPMC teen who called himself a lucky teenager. It is now run by another lucky teen from the Pointes. They both recognized that many are not so lucky and are working to address the issue by collecting items that are among the most requested. Donations are made monthly to local organizations helping people in need.
Your help is requested to make this successful.
There are three easy ways to donate:
- Purchase socks or underwear from the special Amazon wishlist and have the items sent directly to Mikayla.
- Purchase socks and/or underwear on your own and bring them to 286 Lothrop in Grosse Pointe Farms on the monthly collection day (second Saturday). They are looking for men’s underwear (L, XL, XXL), ladies’ underwear (M, L, XL), warm socks, children’s underwear and socks.
- Can’t make the second Saturday of the month? You can arrange for an individual drop-off through the Happy Cheeks website, or bring them anytime to the church’s coat room where there is a box for donations.
