The Summer CE Intern Program is an opportunity to work and discover more about the church. The purpose is to develop skills and experience necessary to work in the field of Christian Education or in different areas of the church. Summer interns will gain experience in developing programs, teaching, working with others and developing personal spiritual growth.
If hired, under the direction of the Christian Education staff, the intern will assist with the following:
- Plan and assist with the children’s Sunday morning Gathering at the Garden program
- Plan and assist with VBS which will be held the week of August 22, 2022
- Prepare for fall programs: Sunday school, LOGOS, Flame/Life/Tuxis, Young Children & Worship
- Interns will occasionally be asked to assist in other areas of the church as needed
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must have a growing relationship with God, express an interest in working with children, be at least 15 years of age (or finished with their freshman year of high school), be a member of GPMC or planning to participate in the GPMC Seekers program. No prior teaching experience is necessary.
Terms of Employment
- This position is considered an at-will employment position with no guaranteed term.
- Summer employment for the interns will begin in mid-June and will conclude on August 28. If the need arises, interns may be called upon for projects throughout the year.
- Weekly hours are flexible, except for the week of VBS and the Sunday morning Gathering in the Garden sessions at the 8:30 am worship service.
- This position is offering a minimum of 60 hours for the summer, but could increase dependent upon the number of interns that are hired.
- This position pays $10/per hour.
