Here is my musical meditation for Palm Sunday 2020 and the beginning of our stay-at-home Holy Week, played on the Klais organ at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church. The hymn “My song is love unknown” is often sung to the tune Rhosymedre. Here is the last stanza:
Here might I stay and sing, no story so divine;
Never was love, dear King, never was grief like thine.
This is my Friend, in whose sweet praise
I all my days could gladly spend.
(words by Samuel Crossman; musical setting by Ralph Vaughan Williams)
