Refugee Update: GPMC continues to support refugees in its Outreach Ministries. In July, the Outreach Council voted funds to support both Southwest Detroit Immigration and Refugee Center (SWIRC) and Freedom House. These local organizations provide lodging, legal aid, and other forms of support to recently arrived refugees.
In addition, our Refugee subcommittee voted to finance two plane tickets from Africa in support of a family from the Congo that is cared for by First Presbyterian Church of Warren. The family has just been reunited with the father following their NY quarantine.
